My special little guy visited the vets today and unfortunately came home with some bad news. He has a type of skin cancer, which they think has spread internally. He is on medication and observation for now, but if the next week doesn't show improvement, we are booking him in to get the lumps removed ASAP and hoping for a good outcome after surgery.

He is the most precious thing to me, my little pride and joy for the last 11 years.

It's been brought to my attention lately, that silly, unnecessary, pathetic name-calling in ADULTS is still going on. It bewilders me. Shouldn't this have stopped the day they left highschool? When I say unnecessary name-calling, it's pointing at those that like to call others a slut/skank/whore/etc when they know themselves that these don't even come close to applying. Usually this person is in a dedicated relationship, just come out of a relationship and still grieving, or those that simply enjoy being single but not promiscuous.

I'd hate to burst a bubble here, but not all girls like to sleep around. Not all girls enjoy that kind of attention. The majority of girls prefer a serious relationship. I, for one, am included in this. The topic gets really heated once modeling comes into it. I am aiming this at modeling, a form of career, not just randomly posing in photos in your bedroom. You pose in a bikini, you're labeled a slut. You pose in lingerie, you're labeled a skank. You pose in a short dress, oh you're most definitely a whore. Forget who you really are, your relationships, your beliefs and morals... as soon as you step infront of the camera, you become someone you're entirely not. This, at times, becomes the main purpose depending on what you are modeling, but not always. The silly thing is, even if the model was sleeping around, does it really need to be brought up? This is someone's private life, what they do besides model, nobody really needs to know, or discuss.

In this day and age, I really do believe that people need to open their eyes and their mind, and not be so quick to judge. Modeling is a career that some of us girls try our luck at. It can take years of hard work and dedication to even catch a glimpse of the glamorous side. Models need to be constantly aware of their body, hair, nails, diet and exercise accordingly and treat their body as the temple it is. It is hard work for a lot of girls, though the satisfaction of staying true to yourself and working hard for what you want in life, makes it all worthwhile. Staying healthy and positive shows through a model's work.

Posing for a lingerie brand does not reflect who you are on the inside, what you do on your weekends, what you had for lunch that day... it's purpose is to sell the lingerie. Companies will look for a healthy, toned, enthusiastic model to showcase their product. Posing on the beach in swimwear does not imply, in the slightest, that you just went behind your boyfriend's back for another man. People need to take it for what they see, and stop with the little, immature comments on the side that simply do not apply.

The perfect example of this would be Miranda Kerr. She has been dubbed one of Australia's most successful models. I am sure, over her many years of being in the industry, she has been called names and labeled something that she's not. She models lingerie and swimwear, so it's almost certain. She is gorgeous and has raw natural beauty, men swoon over her - but she has also been a faithful, dedicated partner (now wife) to Orlando Bloom for many years, and is now a mother to a little son. This goes to show that not all models are in the industry to pick up men or to feel as if they are better than anyone else. This is a career for many girls, who take it very, very seriously.

A tip for aspiring models: Let these untrue and unnecessary remarks pave to the way to your success. Use it as the fuel to your fire. Who are you working for? The company, or the jealous little people in the back? They are there for a reason. It's sad that they need to resort to name-calling to feel better about themselves, it really is, but we have an advantage for when they do - it can push us to keep moving forwards if we let it. The industry will always have opinions - constructive or not - it is up to us whether we let them rain on our parade, or use the criticism as a way to prove to them what we are really made of.

I am a firm believer in things happening for a reason, and that in time we all discover those exact reasons, whether good or bad. I believe they help shape who we become and how we deal with other circumstances that happen in life. We can look at a hard situation and see the negatives and let them rule our lives, or we can learn to fight the battles and appreciate them, for we can grow from these lessons and come out stronger, wiser and happier. Most importantly, these battles and lessons show our true colours.

"Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."

I recently came out of a very unhealthy long-term relationship. It was heartbreaking, to say the least, but I am now in a good, stable place. I have learnt that I was undeserving of what was happening, that I am able to stand on my own two feet and my self-respect comes before anything else. In short, I learnt that if you aren't happy, don't settle for it. Life is too short and too unpredictable to live in worry, hurt and sorrow. During this time, I have drawn motivation and inspiration from my positive surroundings to become a better, wiser, happier version of myself. I believe that sometimes things just aren't meant to be, that you need to allow yourself to grieve at times, and always strive to make each day better than the last.

"Crying doesn't indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive."

I am in the process of ridding all negative, degrading aspects of my life, and continuing to surround myself with people who can challenge me to keep growing into the person I hope to become. I want an endless summer feeling, honest relationships, tears of happiness, unforgettable memories and a stomach filled with butterflies. Since I was young, life has been one hard battle after another. I have discovered what heartbreak, confusion, frustration and failure feels like, but this has only made me want to achieve greater things, in order to never feel the same way again. The words people have said, and the actions that have been played out, only make me stronger. They light a fire inside of me. They give me the strength I need in order to prove them all wrong.

"It's impossible", said pride. "It's risky", said experience. "It's pointless", said reason.

But the heart whispered, "Give it a try."

For the first time in a long time, I feel excited for the future. I'm smiling because I have so many amazing opportunities at my doorstep. Criticism only lights a fire inside my soul to become a better person. I am surrounded by genuine people, who care for and love me for who I am. I went through the struggle of finding who these genuine people are, but now I can separate the real from the fake, and remind myself of what and who really matters. The people who know the real me and those who know what I aspire to be, I will be forever grateful for. They have helped me become so confident in myself to take the leap out of a very negative world.

I can't wait to share some of my newest adventures with you all.

The Making Of...

I have some very exciting news to share with you all!
I have been busy designing and sketching, and as of today, creating glamour bikinis for competition, catwalk
and photoshoot use. I have some very gorgeous materials to work with, as well as amazing accessories
such as diamantes, delicate chains, custom beading and binding.
I am learning from the best, my mother, who is helping to create some very beautiful pieces.
The first bikini is almost finished, and I will share with you all once it's ready to be worn, but for now, here are
some images I've taken over the last few days.

regal gardens, an old abandoned house and a farm, where we even used my horse.

The Perfect Shade

As of late, I have been searching for the perfect brown lipstick. Today I found the shade I was after.
Cappuccino Moisture Intense by Australis, pictured below.

I know when most people think of brown lip colour, the early 90's spring to mind, with the dry, heavy coated matte brown

that was on just about everyone's lips. After seeing Givenchy's Spring 2010 show I noticed models were

wearing the colour I was after. This lipstick is perfect in every single aspect. It's moist, doesn't coat on heavy and has a slight rose tint.
Best of all, it is SPF 30 and has light reflecting mineral pigment, meaning it isn't just one flat colour.

Wedge crazy? I think so.

It is ridiculously hard to find a good shoe in my size (AU5), but I came across a store on eBay which ships from

Hong Kong (which as you all are aware of, are known for their small makes). So, I have ordered these four lovelies.
They are very similar to the ones you would see in Topshop and ASOS - which I have been lusting over for

months now - but made from different material and slightly different shape.
The only issue with having petite feet is that most brands start at size AU6, which is a whole size too big.

I cannot wait for them to arrive. I know with the warmer seasons coming up that I'll be living in those floral wedges.

Rooftops

I recently had a shoot with the talented photographer, Olivia Sari-Goerlach and amazing makeup artist, Kate Clifton.

We faced the strong winds on the rooftop in the city in swimwear and summer clothing by the pool.

It was a gorgeous place with some stunning scenery which was perfect for our theme.

The pool was ice cold, so we decided that the images submerged in the water would have to wait til warmer weather.

I then ventured on to another shoot with a great photographed called Simon from Synergy Photography. Am yet to

recieve these images, but I'm so excited to see the outcome of our shoot at the beach!

The Kurobana Princess

I recently had a photoshoot with the lovely Keno Ko and Olivia from Flawless Makeup.

The theme was the Kurobana Princess. Keno supplied gorgeous asian attire and Olivia worked her magic in

both hair and makeup. The end results were stunning and I was very surprised I could pull off such a strong, and very different look.

Love Changes Everything

Apologies for the lack of posting lately! I have been incredibly busy with modeling and recently spent

a few days in the city with my boyfriend for our two year anniversary.

We had such a nice, romantic time... Sydney is so pretty at night especially! We stayed at a hotel on Darling

Harbour and visited the aquarium, ate at lovely eateries and roamed the city.
My boyfriend and I exchanged rings as anniversary gifts, I absolutely adore mine! I am so spoilt!

I have had quite a few photoshoots lately which I have really enjoyed. I especially loved modeling

new pieces from Rachel Gilbert, which will hopefully be up as posters in stores, and I am very excited

to know that Rachel herself will be viewing the images. The clothing was amazing. I will post all recent shoots

once I recieve them in the coming weeks!

on the weekend. It was fantastic - great bargains. My favourite would have to be the fur coat I bought for a

The superheroes of DC Comics are the stars of the new collection 2010 with Coca Cola and famous
